We offer this introductory STEM education course for the 9th grade students. This course is a pre-requisite for STEM II courses: Engineering skills and Data Literacy, and Web Design and Digital Literacy.
We begin by delving into the world of computers: understanding hardware, identifying key components, comprehending software, distinguishing applications from operating systems, and learning how hardware and software interact. This exploration will culminate in students assembling an electrical circuit and controlling it using Linux commands on a Raspberry Pi microcomputer. Additionally, students will develop their presentation skills by creating and delivering PowerPoint presentation.
The course culminates with a Time Management project, where students record the duration of their daily activities, analyze the data, plot charts showing percentages and absolute values and present their analysis and conclusions using PowerPoint slides.
